The nearby villages of Callander (45 minutes) and Aberfoyle (30 minutes) are within easy reach offering a variety of pubs, restaurants and shops and a wide range of leisure and sporting facilities.  The Inversnaid Hotel and the West Highland Way on Loch Lomond are 7 miles away.

Please note that during the summer months midges can be a nuisance in Scotland, particularly in the Highlands and it is therefore advisable to have some type of repellent such as Smidge or Avon Skin so soft, and antihistamine tablets can relieve itching for those affected.

Midges tend to be more active early in the morning and at dusk, but usually disappear when the weather is sunny or breezy. They also tend to be less troublesome if you are moving i.e. walking or cycling. Also you can purchase various types of clothing and hats with nets that will protect you from getting bitten.
