Booked 3 nights for our wedding anniversary and had such a brilliant time. Cottage will likely exceed expecations- inside modern cosy and very comfortable with everything you need there. Great views of the waterfall and the visiting badgers. Cant knock the value of this place. We wre both genuinely sad to leave and most likely will return in the summer. Loved it.

A remote location away from the hustle & bustle. Very clean. We really enjoyed he private road to the accommodation, not many people or much traffic around allowing us to enjoy the views.

Loved the location and the whole upside down aspect of this cottage. The view of the waterfall/burn from the large lounge upstairs window was stunning. The whole place was so clean it looked brand new. Kitchen had everything needed for a long stay including fridge/freezer and dishwasher and they even had sky TV. Would love to stay again and will recommend to friends.

When we reached the top of the hill looking at the cottage beneath us we were breathless at the beauty of the view of the loch, mountains and countryside. Burn View is an amazing upside down house, with opulent bedroom. lovely bathroom and utility room downstairs. Well equipped kitchen and stylishly decorated with full wall window overlooking the waterfall upstairs. "This place is gorgeous"

What an amazing place. We were looking for somewhere remote to get away and relax and that is exactly what we got. This is a great place to base yourself to explore Loch Katrine and the surrounding area. Stunning views and amaxing hospitality.

The cottage is remote, wild and totally wonderful, spacious and spotlessly clean, a comfortable base for exploring the region. Make sure you bring your supplies, you wont want to leave and its not a quick nip down to the shops. The unexpected bonus was the Scottish history thrown in. Its MacGregor territory, the birthplace of Rob Roy. A very memorable break in a beautiful spot.

Burn View was a great escape tucked away near Loch Katrine. The cottage has everything you need for a great getaway. We spent  3 nights there exploring the walks near the cottage, Loch Ard and Aberfoyle. We would definitely recommend a visit.

What a beautiful place. The view of the stream running into the Loch was pretty with lots of wild birds coming to peck at the bits. This place is really at the end of the road and so is completely quiet and peaceful. At night it is completely dark giving a beautiful view of the clear night sky. The scenery is breath taking and a trip on the Lady of the Lake was very enjoyable and informative. The Peer Cafe was excellent for both a tea and evening meal. Sheena and David are excellent hosts available to help but leaving us to ourselves. The cottage has all you would expect and was spotless. We had a lovely and very relaxing time throughout. I would highly recommend Sheena’s cottage and intend to go back sometime next year.

The cottage is in quite an isolated location and we loved this element. It was dramatically beautiful. The cottage itself has been renovated and decorated to a high standard. We really enjoyed our time there.

We arrived at Burn View after our wedding and it was the perfect location to get away from the world for a few days. Beautiful surroundings. very peaceful, not a soul in sight. There is a waterfall in the grounds just outside the door and amazing walks and views all around.

It was lovely to watch the birds eating from the feeders which the owners top up regularly. The house is kept in amazing condition and I loved the decor. The internet is quite slow, as expected in remote area, but this is great when you are trying to get away.  There is sky TV and DVDs and you can connect other devices to the TV so there was plenty to do on rainy days. It is a great cottage and we would love to stay there again in the future.

Another fantastic stay at Burn View, a beautifully clean and well presented place to stay. it snowed during our stay but we still managed to get out and enjoy the stunning scenery surrounding the property. We will definitely recommend to friends and stay ourselves again soon.

Outstanding place to stay. Pictures do not do it justice. Rain or shine there are plenty of things to see and do in the area. As clean as a new pin inside with views of an amazing waterfall gushing at this time of year.

I struggle for words to describe just how lovely this cottage is, and the location is fantastic. If you love dramatic scenery and Lochs this is the cottage to go to. Our family have stayed in many cottages across the UK and can hand on heart say this the nicest and well equipped cottage we have ever stayed in. It was beautifully clean, very cosy and the kitchen was equipped with everything from washing up liquid to baking trays. It is worth saying though that it is in a remote location taking around 35 minutes to reach from Aberfoyle and the nearest shops. Our family loved this though as there are loads of places you can stop for walks or little Lochs we stopped at to skim stones and let the dog have a paddle! 2 special mentions of places we went a people we met. Firstly the guys at Katrine Wheels for bike hire. Really accommodating and even borrowed a trailer for us to put the dog in on our ride! We got many strange looks along the way but it was good to do the ride along the banks of Loch Katrine and have the staff at the Pier Café in Stronachlachar pop them back on the ferry and send them back to Katrine Wheels. Second mention goes to the afore mentioned Café and staff. Lovely food, friendly staff and on the banks of the Loch with yet more breathe taking scenery. The homemade cakes were delicious and the kids loved the hot chocolates. As you can probably guess we really enjoyed our week at Glengyle MacGregor. I cannot recommend this cottage enough. If you love Scotland like our family this is the place for you.

Top notch accommodation, stunning location.

Date of stay June 2017 Glengyle MacGregor

The property is furnished to a high specification. Modern yet characterful. Cosy and well equipped. Great bathrooms and the wood burner is a lovely feature. Wi-fi is fast and was useful for local information. We cycled along the road to Trossachs pier and back, we cycled to Aberfoyle and back. We walked up Ben Lomond and had great forest walk in the Queen Elizabeth wood. The pier cafe was brilliant. The peace and quiet fantastic not to mention the beautiful scenery. Strongly recommend a stay here, you will not be disappointed

Fabulous cottage and host

Date of stay February 2017 Glengyle MacGregor

Stayed the weekend in this gorgeous cottage. Sheena is the perfect host who had provided EVERYTHING you could need. I have stayed in so many places that you need to bring things like washing up liquid with you... not so here.  The cottage is immaculate and very very clean. Cleaner than many 5* hotels. We hope to visit again.

Top class luxury accommodation. Large and spacious, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. This property is well worth the journey along the private road which affords you breathtaking views of Loch Katrine along the way. The owners were really helpful and accommodating. Thank you for a great holiday.

Peaceful holiday”

Date of stay August 2015 Glengyle MacGregor

The cottage is done to a very high spec, and is a peaceful place to stay with plenty to do. Ideal for walkers and cyclists for whom the washing machine is ideal or if you are like us sightseeing in the day and back for a nice cosy evening in. The Glengoyne Distillery isn't far and was most enjoyable. Worth doing the Loch Katrine Cruise as well. Not too far away from Stirling and Edinburgh. Would definitely recommend and hopefully visit again sometime.

“Most relaxing holiday in years”

Date of stay June 2014 Glengyle MacGregor

Our stay at The Glengyle MacGregor was amazing. The cottage itself was very homely and was very well presented. You had everything you needed and more. The owner was very helpful and provided all the information required. All communication was very prompt and offered first class customer service. On arrival and our entire duration of our stay, we were blown away by how beautiful and breathtaking Scotland is. The views on and around Loch Katrine was amazing. We went on Sir Walter Scott Steam Boat which was a two hour trip around Loch Katrine which was very worth while. There are lots of activities to suit all ages and abilities in the surrounding area. We would definitely recommend The Glengyle MacGregor to anyone who appreciates beautiful scenery and is looking for a relaxing break. We would definitely plan to stay there again.

"Perfect"

Sally Allen Date of stay December 2013 Glengyle MacGregor

My husband, dog and I spent Christmas 2013 at The Glengyle Macgregor. We absolutely loved it! I very rarely say I'll go back to the same place twice but I so would here! We were very lucky in that the other 'apartments' joined to property we're empty so we had the area to ourselves which was ideal as we had been looking for a detached property but couldn't get one so took a gamble on this which paid off. I can't imagine if there had have been neighbours though it would have made much of a difference to our stay. It was just handy being able to let the dog run out the front and not have to worry about neighbours! There is a private enclosed garden though so we would have been fine. We couldn't use the garden due to the weather but I can imagine it's lovely when you can, with the stream from the mountain waterfall running right beside the house! The property itself is lovely, really nicely done and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The log burner makes it very cosy too. There is only one shower in the main bathroom which was fine for just the 2 of us but if 4 people stayed you'd probably all end up sharing the 1 bathroom. One only other minor issue was the hot water didn't last very long so we ended up having to keep putting the boost emersion on. If you are looking for isolation this place is perfect - literally in the middle of nowhere just 50m from the edge of the loch. There is a big house in front of this property but it was empty when we stayed (Rob Roy's birth place!). It's 13 miles to aberfoyle the nearest town and whilst it's a very pretty drive it's a single track road so we were a bit fed up of the journey after a few trips. There aren't many walks right from the house, only around the loch so we tended to go out in the car for walks and bike rides. But you don't have to travel far at all to get somewhere very special!

(Please note we installed a bigger water tank after the above review was provided and this has eliminated the need to use the boost function)

New combi boiler installed November 2017.
